Drink water

During Roskilde Festival 2009, Danish Brewers Association had employed 25 people who handed out free cups of water throughout the entire festival.

It was part of a campaign, asking young people to have a rational relation to alcohol. A big part of this is to drink water and lots of it.

During the festival over 50,000 cups of water were handed out.

Green Roskilde Festival

Roskilde is getting greener. A presentation of the many different ways Roskilde Festival is getting more sustainable.

The work on better public transport, organic food, energy savings, refund systems and waste reduction is presented by volunteers, artists and the environmental manager of Roskilde Festival.

Danish Centre for Culture and Development (DCCD) invited nine Africans to participate in Roskilde Festival 2009. They all work as professionals in the music business in their respective home countries and the purpose of their visit was to give them experience in handling large music events based on volunteer work.

12.000 got wristbands in Tivoli

Thousands of happy Roskilde Festival-goers got their wristbands on Friday in Tivoli. Already Thursday night people waited in line outside Tivoli and Friday night about 12.000 people had exchanged their tickets. The wristband gives free entrance to Tivoli and Friday Rock concert with Danish band Veto.

Every year, Roskilde Festival Radio hosts the Naked Run with a ticket for next year's festival as the prize. The rules are simple: you have to be the first to cross the finishing line, and you have to be naked. Is an attempt to attract other than male contestants, the rules have been changed through the last couple of years so that the first female to cross the line also gets a ticket.
